Recommended/Easiest to Install Brake Controller for 2022 Subaru Ascent
Published 01/28/2022 >
Question:
I already have the needed trailer hitch and RV plug to haul my camper but I do not have a brake controller, what do you recommend? That is easy to install. I have read on the Rearc but don't want to try and install that.

For your 2022 Subaru Ascent I recommend the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller, # C51180. This Bluetooth-enabled brake controller wirelessly connects to your smartphone, turning your phone into a brake control interface. It simply plugs into your already installed 7-way RV plug and then the travel trailer's cord plugs into it. You don't get any easier of an install than that.
The Echo Smart Control app is free to download and use. Scan the QR code included with the Curt Echo or search Echo Smart Control in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The app allows you to control brake settings, calibrate output, and monitor all braking activity.
You can then hold your phone in place using the Rear View Safety Suction Cup Mount for Mobile Devices
Item # RVS-CEL-M1.
