Is 12 inch Trailer Wheel and Tire Decent Option for Trailer

Question:
I have a small utility trailer that I use constantly, I have always gotten by with the 12” rims that have a 155/80R12 77 tires on it. A few months ago I had a blow out it ruined both the tire and the rim, I know why it happened, but I need to get a new wheel and tire. It seemed like the 12” tires were a pain to get because I had to hunt and order them online they were not available in any tire shop around Bakersfield Ca. So my question is this, even though it would be a lot more money to replace the 2 wheels I have, and add a spare and move up to a 13” rim with a 175/80 R 13? I would have to buy 3 wheels and tires so I had a spare at a cost of 90.35 ea, or just buy 1 new 12” wheel and tire for $67.00? I guess it boils down to this, are the 12” ok, or should I move up to the 13’s? Thanks

So the current size you have isn't a standard trailer tire size which is why you are having a hard time finding replacements for it. 12 inch wheel and tires on trailers are solid options and I wouldn't hesitate to go that route.
The closest trailer tire size to what you have now is the size 145/80-12 like with the part # AM35354 for a wheel and tire or part # AM10130 for just a tire.
