For your 2022 Toyota Prius, I recommend the Curt Hitch - 1-1/4" # C11473. Not only will this hitch provide you with 2,000 pounds of gross towing weight, it also comes with a high-quality gloss outer coat over the base powder coat which gives you superior rust and corrosion resistance. It is also assembled here in the U.S.A.
As far as wiring, you need specific wiring depending on what model of Prius you have. If you have front-wheel drive, you need the Curt T-Connector # C56353. If you have the all-wheel drive model, you need the Curt T-Connector # C69KR. Both of these harnesses will provide your light utility trailer with brake lights, turn signals, and running light functions.
If you need a ball mount/ball to complete your setup, I recommend the Curt Towing Starter Kit # C45147. This kit also comes with a hitch pin and arrives pre-torqued to match factory specifications.
As with all hitches and towing applications, I recommend confirming with your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure that your Prius can handle the amount of weight you wish to tow.
