What Tire Chains do You Recommend for My 2021 Toyota Highlander XSE model with 235/55-20 Tires?
Question:
Your website does say that Konig XB16 is not a fit for 2021 Toyota Highlander and I found a QandA which is confirming that it fits for 2021 Toyota Highlander with 235/65R/18 tires and I am wondering if it can fit to my slightly larger 235/55R/20 tires as well. Thank you for your suggestion.

Yes, the Konig Standard Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link - XB16 # th01571255 will fit your 235/55-20 tires, but it is important to note that these chains do require at least 16mm of internal wheel well clearance on your 2021 Toyota Highlander XSE. In order to confirm if you have enough clearance for these chains, I recommend measuring from your interior sidewall of your tires to the closest component in your wheel well (struts, brake lines, etc.). I went ahead and attached a diagram that shows this measurement.
If you find that you do not have enough clearance, we do carry the same style of Konig Chains that only require 12mm of wheel well clearance. Those are the Konig Self-Tensioning Snow Tire Chains # TH2004705255. These chains are confirmed to fit your 2021 Toyota Highlander and also come with a self-tensioner system that eliminates the need to tighten the chains after each trip. I went ahead and attached a video showing these chains being installed on a 2021 Toyota Highlander.
I went ahead and confirmed with the owner's manual that you should only use tire chains on your front tires. As with all tire chains, I recommend consulting with your vehicle's owner's manual to make sure there are additional tips and/or cautions.
