Troubleshooting Red Release Button Not Releasing Erickson Re-Tractable Ratchet Strap

the red release button does not release the strap It is stuck

Expert Reply:
When using the red release button on the Erickson Re-Tractable Ratchet Straps # EM34416 it takes more than a simple press of the button to release the tension. Make sure you get a firm grip on the ratchet when you press the button and then close the whole ratchet to release the tension. See the attached video starting at the 50 second mark which demonstrates this.
If you have followed the video and it still isn't releasing, you may need to add a little lubricant like WD-40 if it is stuck.
