Question:
I just want to be sure I have the correct step control before I have the unit installed. I was told by the local RV shop my 1990 Allegro step control has been replaced by 379146. The unit you shipped looks different than my original square blue unit which has no visible part number and has no plugs…just individual wires. Your box is labeled 379146 but the unit inside is labeled Power Gear 1800709. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Your local RV shop is correct that the Control Unit for Kwikee Electric RV Steps # LC379146 did replace the original unit from your 1990 Allegro, but it is not the only part that is needed to get it installed. This will only fit motors from 2006 to present, so you will need a couple other things to get it to work properly.
Typically in your case, I would have recommended the Motor Upgrade Kit for Kwikee Electric RV Steps # LC379145 as it includes everything needed to accomplish this feat. As you already have the control unit, I have all the other pieces the # LC379145 comes with listed below.
Replacement Magnetic Door Sensor for Kwikee Electric RV Steps - Round - Black # LC375385
Replacement Magnetic Door Sensor for Kwikee Electric RV Steps - Rectangle - Black # LC369299
Replacement Gear Box and A Linkage for Kwikee Electric RV Steps # LC379160
Replacement Motor for Kwikee Electric RV Steps - 12V # LC379147
Replacement 4-Way Plug for Kwikee Electric RV Steps - Packard Connector # LC369243
Power Gear is also a subsidiary of Lippert, so you did get the correct part. You just need a few others for it to get connected and working.
