Locating Tail Light Wires on a 2013 Infiniti JX35 to Install the Curt 3 Wire to 2 Wire Converter

Question:
hi, I bought the trailer wiring harness part # C56190 for my Infinity JX35. The instructions are not clear where the box to connect the wiring harness is located in the car. Can you provide a picture or a description where the box is and how to go to it? Thanks

The Curt Universal 3 Wire to 2 Wire Harness, # C56190, that you purchased was designed to connect directly to your vehicles tail light circuits. This wiring harness was not designed to connect to a specific box or connector on any particular vehicle. You should be able to access the tail light circuits on your 2013 Infiniti JX35 either directly behind the tail light assemblies, or you may be able to find the behind the trim panels in the rear cargo area on the driver and passenger side of the vehicle.
Often times there is an access door on the trim panels where you may be able to locate the wires, but you may need to completely remove the rear trim panels. On SUVs like your JX35, we have had luck splicing into the tail light wiring directly behind the tail light assemblies. The tail light assemblies are usually held on with a few clips or screws. Once the clips or screws are released, the tail light assembly can be pulled out.
The converter box can be mounted in any location as long as it is away from the elements. I strongly recommend using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the taillight wires before you make any connections to ensure you have the correct wire.
One thing to keep in mind with this wiring harness. Be sure you connect the Black wire directly to the positive terminal on your vehicles battery. This 12 volt power wire will supply the power to your trailer lights and the wiring harness will not work properly if it is not connected to the battery.
