There is no difference between a soft start and start capacitor, they are referring to the same thing which is to help cut down power demands while starting an air conditioner using a generator. If you can let me know which exact unit you have I can see if we have a plug-in option, otherwise you can use the SoftStartRV Soft Start for RV AC Units part # SSR54FR.
