Compatibility of Curt T-Connector for 2006 Acura MDX with Wishbone Trailer Connector on Trailer
Updated 06/14/2013 | Published 06/13/2013 >
Question:
Ive been looking at the wiring harness #c55336 for my 2006 acura mdx. the trailer that i purchased has a 4 pin connector with 5 wires in it. I noticed that the end of your harness shows 4 pin with 4 wires, will it work for my trailer, or do I need an adapter? If so, do you sell the adapter, and can you give me the part # so I can order it. Thank you

Expert Reply:
If your trailer uses a 4-pin connector that has five wires leading to it, your trailer uses what is called a wishbone harness. The running light circuit separates at the connector (rather than separating further down the line) with one leg running down each side of the trailer.
The Curt T-Connector # C55336 for the Acura MDX will work great with this type of trailer connector, as long as it is indeed a 4-pin connector. No adapter will be necessary.
I have linked you to the installation instructions, and provided a photo showing exactly where the factory connection for the trailer wiring harness is located.
