The Lights On My 2018 Mazda CX-5 GT Alternate With The Trailer Tail Lights When Pressing The Brake
Published 10/14/2021 >
Question:
Good Day. I have the trailer light kit C56377 installed, and Im wondering if there is something that was not installed properly. My trailer lights work as normal, until both the brake of the CX-5 is applied and a turn signal is on. When those two things happen at the same time, the blinker of the CX-5 is alternating with the blinker of the trailer, if that makes sense. So for instance, if the left blinker is on, and the brakes are applied to the CX-5, the CX-5 blinker will light up, when the light turns off then the left blinker of the trailer will light up. I originally thought it was the trailer wiring, but I now have a light bar connected to the CX-5 and it is behaving the same way. I have a video I could provide which would help explain if that is an option. Im wondering if something is not connected properly, or if it is supposed to behave this way. Thanks

What you are experiencing is normal for your Curt T-Connector # C56377 on your 2018 Mazda CX-5 GT. The powered converter is taking the input from your vehicle lighting and distributing it out to the trailer tail lights. It may seem odd but there is no reason to be concerned as the lights are all working properly.
