Troubleshooting Brakes Locking Up with a Curt Echo Brake Controller
Published 10/13/2021 >
Question:
I have been using the Curt Echo 51180 brake controller for about 2 months without issue but last weekend after driving for 3 hours the brakes started locking up at slow speed bumper to bumper traffic. It got so bad that I had to disconnect the controller trailer is a Bushwacker tear so its pretty light. Ever since no matter what I try, the brakes still lockup. Any thoughts? Thanks

I would be happy to help you fix your Curt Echo item # C51180. First you will need to completely unplug the Echo from both trailer and truck, delete the app from your phone, reinstall the app, and then plug the Echo into the vehicle 7-way (by itself) until the Echo has a solid blue light. This should completely reset your settings and you will be good to go when re-pairing your Echo.
