How Much Rise Does the Reese RE94FR Weight Distribution Have?
Updated 09/27/2021 | Published 09/25/2021 >
Question:
We just bought a 2022 Forest River Wolf Pup. The hitch weight is 440 lbs, gross weight is 3920. I hauled it home today and it was sitting a bit low so I assume I need to get a hitch that raises it. First of all is this model # the correct one and how to I address my situation using this sway control?

To determine if you need rise, you will measure from the inside top of the receiver on your vehicle and then from the ground to the bottom of the coupler on the trailer. This should be done on as level a surface as possible. The difference will tell you how much rise, or drop, is needed. The Reese Pro Round Bar Weight Distribution w Sway Control - Round Bar - 8,000 lbs GTW, 800 lbs TW # RE94FR can have a maximum rise of up to 12 inches and should be able to cover you completely.
The # RE94FR will also have a minimum tongue weight capacity of 400 pounds and a maximum tongue capacity of 800 pounds, so it can work for you. You really want to try and get the tongue weight of the trailer to fall in the middle of the system's capacities, but that isn't always possible with the lower tongue weight of some trailers. With that being said, I do recommend loading your 2022 Forest River Wolf Pup a bit front heavy, but the Reese # RE94FR will be my recommendation for you.
