Is Thule Change Key Part # 853-1251 Required to Change Lock Cylinders on Thule One Key System

Question:

I did a special order of the cylinders to have the key match our current box. The order doesnt come with the change key. Just wonder whether I can use the normal key to install the locks before the new order of the change key comes?

Expert Reply:

You will need the Thule Universal Change Key, part # 853-1251, in order to remove your existing factory lock cores. With your existing locks in the unlocked position insert the universal control key to remove the core. It may be necessary to wiggle the key a bit to work the core loose. Once the existing core has been removed, pop in the new One Key System core and you are done.
