To tow your 2021 Ford F-150 you'll need a tow bar, base plate, braking system, tow bar wiring kit, and safety cables. I have the following recommendations for you below:
Tow Bar: Roadmaster BlackHawk 2 All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-422. This tow bar features a non-binding design and large hookup radius to make hooking and unhooking your vehicle on any terrain a breeze.
Base Plate: Roadmaster Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # RM38VR. These direct-connect base plates will make hooking and unhooking your F-150 up to your tow bar a breeze. The removable arms will provide a clean look when not in use.
Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Smart Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Wiring Kit for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights # RM38FR if you have LED lights or the Roadmaster Smart Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Wiring Kit for Variable Voltage Incandescent Tail Lights # RM26FR if you have incandescent lights. This kits will come with everything you need to connect your RV's tail, brake, and turn signal lights to your Ford F-150.
Braking System: Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # SM99251. This braking system offers automatic, proportional braking with a system that never has to be removed, replaced, or reset. The DUO activates when your RV's brake lights go on and an inertia sensor in the towed car detects deceleration for no false braking. The sensitivity control on the inertia sensor lets you regulate how aggressively the towed car's brakes activate to customize your experience.
Since you have a combined lighting system you'll also need the # RM-88400 relay to prevent your vehicle's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV when applying the brakes during a turn.
You will also want to add in a charge line kit # RM-156-25 to ensure you don't arrive at your destination with a dead battery.
Safety Cables: Blue Ox 7' Safety Cables - 10,000lbs # BX88197. The coiled design will help prevent the cables from dragging on the ground and being damaged.
You may also need a high/low adapter to keep your tow bar level. This will require some measuring so I've attached our help guide article to assist you in this process.
Your owner's manual will have some specific steps that you'll need to follow in order to get your F-150 ready to flat tow that will be listed under "Towing Your Vehicle".
