What kind of Bolts Do I Need for the Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler?

im making a boat extension to my trailer using 3 inch box iron the trailer iron does not have holes so i will have to drill holes into the 3inch box iron what size hole is this and how long does the bolts need to be type of bolts or grade

The hole diameters for the Demco Channel Tongue Trailer Coupler item # 12564 are 1/2 inch. It is recommended to use grade 8 hardware to attach the coupler to your trailer frame. You can find these bolts at a local hardware store as they do not come supplied with the kit because of varying sizes of trailer frames.
