Question:

per the answer hitch wont prevent operation of the hands-free liftgate on 2021 CX-9. Has this been verified by actual experimenting with it on CX-9, or is that based on other model, which is assumed to apply to CX-9, too? Just want to be sure before spending the money and time to install it, since the user manual for the car indicates that add-on attachments may interfere with hands-free operation Thank you

We have received reviews for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13284 confirming that the hands-free liftgate will operate with the receiver installed on a 2021 Mazda CX-9. You should not have any issues using yours on your CX-9 but as a general guide line I do recommend testing it after the receiver is installed as generally one side may work better at sensing the foot movement.

The Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118278 will allow you to have a 4-way flat trailer connector by connecting to the factory plug on your CX-9. This will allow you to connect to the lighting connector on most small trailers you might pull as well as add Auxiliary Lights # C53201 if your bike rack/cargo carrier block the view of the taillights on your CX-9.
