Preventing Exhaust from Melting Mudflaps of Rock Tamers ERT00108 Mud Flaps

Question:

I had road wings for my 2008 GMC dura max and the exhaust melted the mud flap. With this system would I still have the same problem?

If you can install the Rock Tamers so that the flaps are not situated right in front of your exhaust pipe, they should work very well for you. However, if the flaps fall right in front of where your exhaust discharges, you will likely have the same problem.

Rock Tamers makes a stainless heat shield, part # ERT230 that can be installed on the flaps to protect them from the heat from the exhaust, so that's what I'd recommend using.
