Determining Where To Place the Pivot Arms On A B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch
Updated 07/06/2021 | Published 07/01/2021 >
Question:
Hi, I have a 2017 Ford 350 single axel standard bed with 4” lift and 37” tires and air bags. The measurement from the ground to the top of the bed is 40” at 7PSI inflated. I’ll be pulling a 2018 Genesis Supreme Genesis Supreme 32 CRXL. I am installing the RVK 3500 and would like to know what position I should put the pivot arms. Seems I should put them on the lowest option? Also what/aft position? Your recommendation please.

Based on the height of your truck the lowest setting is going to most likely be the correct choice when installing your B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 20,000lbs Item # BWRVK3500-5W. The point of the vertical adjustability in the pivot arms is to level your camper with your truck and make sure you have 5-6" of space between the bed rails and the trailer. As for the horizontal movement that also depends on the distance from your trailer. I've attached a picture to show you those recommended clearance measurements.
