Question:
I have a single axle travel trailer that I weighed on a CAT scale. The wet weight was 3750lbs and the tongue weight was 640. That was with 5 gals of fresh water in the front tank and with dual batteries . I plan to not carry water in the tank so Im looking at 600lbs tongue weight. on average, maybe a little less by loading more in the rear. The 1000lb bars i have now are too stiff so i have a choice of 600 or 800 bars . Would the 800 lb bars be too stiff also? The 600lb bars would be at their max most of the time but closest match to the real tongue wt. Im trying to determine 800 or 600 bars? Thanks

Thanks for all of the information!
It sounds like you are looking to replace just the spring bars on your weight distribution hitch. That is possible, and I would go with the 800lb bars as they will not be too stiff with 600lb tongue weight. If you can tell me exactly which model hitch you have I would be happy to recommend the correct replacement spring bars for you.
If you are looking for a different weight distribution hitch, then I recommend going with the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion - 8,000 lbs GTW, 800 lbs TW # FA92-00-0800 which works with tongue weights between 400-800lbs so it will be perfect for your tongue weight. This hitch has built in two point sway control to keep sway from occuring when going over rough roads, or when driving on the highway.
Now this hitch does not include a hitch ball so you will need either 2" hitch ball # A-90 or 2-5/16" hitch # 19286 to match the coupler on your trailer.
I included a video of the # FA92-00-0800 for you to take a look at.
