WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 2017-2019 VS 2020 PUCK SYSTEM FOR GM TRUCKS?

The spacings of the pucks between the two generations of Chevy trucks is different which is why the hitch fits between the two are different. Since I believe you have a 2017 Chevy Silverado 3500 with the OEM rail kit the B and W Companion hitch part # BWRVK3705 that you referenced would fit it directly and would work great.
