Question:
Ordered part HM43374 for use with 2008 Toyota 4-runner with factory tow. The electrical connection matches perfectly. But I cannot see any way to mount the unit on the factory setup. The factory unit is a triangular mount with mounting holes at 3inch separation. There is no way to use the bracket included with HM43374 to mount on the vehicle. What am I missing here?

There is no way to reuse the same bolt holes that held on the OEM 7-way with the new Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package # HM43374 on your 2008 Toyota 4Runner.
You can drill new holes if you wish to reuse the factory mounting location for the new 7-way as seen in the picture. Or you can use the bracket provided to move your trailer connection further back where it would be more accessible for you to attach as well as not pull on your trailer harness if it is not long enough when making turns.
The Curt No-Drill Bracket for 6-Way or 7-Way Round Trailer Connector Mounting Bracket # C57202 can also be utilized for a no drill mount that will wrap around the cross tube of most trailer hitches.
