Question:
Gentlemen checking website for information to purchase brakes for my fifth wheel.. The site lists Drum K08-426-91 for 4k axle as premium and then lists below as value 84546UC3-EZ My question is are these drums the same and I would save some $ by ordering the $ value ones.. Thank you

Helpful Expert Reply:
The two Dexter hub and drums you mentioned do fit the same spindle as they use the same bearings and grease seal, but they have different capacities, and I verified with Dexter that the actual drum itself is different to compensate for the difference. So the correct hub and drum will depend on the capacity of your axle:
- 4,000 lb Axle: Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 4,000-lb E-Z Lube Axles # K08-426-91
- 3,500 lb Axle: Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3,500-lb E-Z Lube Axles # 84546UC3-EZ
