The correct hub/drum for a Dexter 4,000 Lb Axle is the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # K08-426-91. Then for the brakes, you can use the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit part # 23-468-469. The hubs/drums for a 3,500 lb axle are slightly different.

I spoke with Dexter about using 3500lb drums on a 4000lb axle. They told me you can use a 3500lb hub/drum just as long as the assembly (backing plate, shoes, etc) is rated for 4000lbs. The bearings for both 3500lb and 4000lb drums are identical. Can you confirm what Dexter told me?

@Wes This is true. Everything Dexter said is accurate. Are you looking for hub/drums and assemblies?

@JamesonC I have the 4400lb assemblies (K23-463-00 and K23-462-00) but was curious if these hubs/drums would work: https://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Hubs-and-Drums/Terran-Axle/TX68VJ.html Trailer has a GVRW of 3900lbs.

@Wes Yep, the hub/drum part # TX68VJ that you referenced would work for you.
