Expert Reply:
For electric trailer brakes on a 7,000 lb axle, I recommend going with a self-adjusting kit because they are going to be simpler to maintain; you won't have to manually adjust them as they will always be aligned properly. The kit I recommend is the following:
- Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies # AKEBRK-7-SA
I really like these brakes because they are easily the best value for electric brakes, combining quality and effectiveness at a better price point than other options. The only other thing you will need with these brakes is the mounting hardware, which is the Mounting Bolts and Hardware for 12" Brake Assemblies # BRKH12.
