Recommended Weight Distribution Shank for 2.5" Hitch with Extra Drop
Updated 04/06/2021 | Published 04/02/2021 >
Question:
I have a Blue Ox Sway Pro with 1000# bars. I bought a new tow vehicle - a 2021 Silverado 2500 HD LTZ 4x4 the new hitch height is higher than it was on my 1500 4x4 and there isnt enough adjustment on my 7 hole 9inch shank. After taking some measurements it looks like the 9 hole 9inch shank will provide enough to get things level again. The old receiver was 2inch and the new one is 2 1/2, I dont need the extra capacity since my Airstream is 7600# and about 900# tongue weight. Thoughts, insights, or things I should consider? Thanks

The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Shank part # EQ94FR is what I recommend using for a 2-1/2" hitch where extra drop is needed. It offers up to 9" drop which should be plenty for most truck and trailers combos. It's cross-compatible so it will work with pretty much any system.
