The old shackle strap measures 2-1/2" Old equalizer 7-3/4" at the two lower bolts

Generally you'll want to replace your equalizer and shackles with ones that have the same or similar dimensions. The equalizer in the # AP233 kit has a 2" tall and 5-3/4" long (eye bolt center to eye bolt center) and the shackles included are 2-1/4" long. You might be able to make up the distance by just using some longer shackle straps like the Replacement Shackle Strap - 2-5/8" Long # 115052, which will give you an extra 3/8" of an inch.

If you can provide the length of the shackle straps you're replacing and the dimensions of the equalizer I'm happy to look and see what there is available that would be more appropriate for your trailer. We'll need to know the distance between the two side bolts on the equalizer and the center hole to center hole distance on the shackle straps. If those measurements are what your old kit used then you'll want to use the Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit for Tandem-Axle Trailers - 1-3/4" Wide Double-Eye Springs # K71-449-00. This kit uses a 7-3/4" wide equalizer and the shackle straps are 2-1/4" long, which isn't exact but will work for your suspension; the shackle straps can stretch out a bit over time, so this might be the difference we're seeing of 1/4". This would be the correct parts you'll need to replace your equalizer and shackles on your trailer.
