Can Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit Replace 2-5/8" Shackles

Question:

Looking for a heavy duty bushing kit to fix my utility trailer including a 7 3/4 bottom bolt hole stabiler bar replacement. I was looking at K71-449-00 but my shackles are 2 5/8 it looks like on the center to center holes

Hey Cody! Since your equalizer measurement lines up you can use the Dexter Heavy-Duty Suspension Kit for Tandem-Axle Trailers # K71-449-00. Ideally you want the same shackle strap length but they don't make one for the less common 2-5/8" shackles. The difference isn't enough to throw off your suspension geometry and hurt the trailer so you can use the 2-1/4" as a replacement.

This kit was fairly easy to install (alone). I actually needed the shorted shackle straps, because I was having an issue with my shackles having too much play in them, and when reversing over a bump the shackle would flip and raise my rear axle off of the ground. The metal bushings and grease fittings provide peace of mind as well. That trailer is my daily driver, about 1k miles a week with payload. Cannot afford down time, this kit is the crown jewel for preventative maintenance.
