Question:
We own a blue ox sway hitch w 7 hole 9inch shank. We recently changed tv from 2015 Chevy Silverado to 2020 Ford F150. We had to change to the last 2 holes on the receiver to level the trailer to truck. But we cant fully open the truck tailgate when connected. Do you think the longer shank will work to open tailgate? If so, we will need to extend breakaway chains and trailer brake connection. Since chains are soldered how can we extend them?

The Blue Ox # BXW4000 will give you roughly 10 inches of clearance from the center of the hitch pin to the mounts on the shank, so you'll want to measure how much more clearance you need to actually clear the tailgate; in some cases it might be enough. Your best bet is going to be to measure to find out exactly how much more you need compared to the original shank and then we can determine if there is a solution available.
I don't believe that using an extension like this will create the need to get longer safety chains but you can add some quick links like the Quick Links - 1/2" Diameter - Qty 2 # 37201345 to give you a little bit of added length if needed. To extend the wiring you can use something like the TorkLift Wiring Harness Extension for 24" SuperTruss Hitch Extender - 7-Way RV # TLW6024.
I've linked some review videos of these parts for you to check out. If you can let us know the distance from the hitch pin hole to the end of the lowered tail gate I'm happy to see if there is a solution that would work.
