I do have a solution for you. But first, the Bulldog Gooseneck Coupler Repair Kit # BD0287740300 is designed to fit certain model Bulldog couplers all of which have 4 inch diameter tubes. I spoke with my contact at Bulldog to determine if a 3-1/2 inch tube would fit but he stated it will not.

You would need a coupler with enough space for you to fully put your tube onto. Take a look at coupler head # 291300. This head has a round base that is 4-7/8 inches in diameter so a 3-1/2 tube should fully fit on it so it can be safely welded into place. Welding should be performed by a qualified professional with experience in welding cast steel.
