Question:
are they glue on or have some type of glue strips on them?

The front window deflectors are a compression or tension fit, and do not require any adhesive to remain in place. The outward and downward tension applied against the side and bottom of the door frame will hold them securely in place. I have edited a photo that might make this a bit more clear for you.
The rear deflectors use an included strip of adhesive tape that adheres them to the inside of the window channel.
