Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2008 Toyota Tundra with Gooseneck Hitch
Updated 02/24/2021 | Published 02/22/2021 >
Question:
I have a 2008 Tundra Crewmax that I use to pull a steel GN horse trailer. Trailer weight with horses is around 5000lbs. Estimating pin weight at 25, or 1250lbs, puts me close to my max payload of 1310. Was thinking it might be advisable to install a suspension enhancement product. Would you suggest Timbren or Sumosprings in this application. And if Sumosprings, which load capacity. Given that Im hauling horses, want to maintain as smooth a ride as possible. Truck is equipped with BandW GN hitch, and bolt attaching hitch to frame is very close to where either product would contact frame when compressed.

Helpful Expert Reply:
For your 2008 Toyota Tundra the suspension enhancement I would recommend the highest is the RoadActive Suspension kit part # RAS34FR as it gives you adjustable support like you are wanting but it also gives you a better ride quality and handling unlike the other options so it's the best overall solution.
