Installation of Bolt for TorkLift Camper Tie Down TL2022 Where Star Washer Won't Grip

Question:

I can not get the 1/2inch 13x@inch bolt that was fixed through the hole to tighten down all the way on the nut. It just spins, the star washer does not seem to be grapping. Its not going to come off as it is pretty tight and the lock nut washer is engaged but I cant get any torque on it. Any suggestions.

I was able to reach out to my tech contact over at TorkLift to get some guidance on the installation of the TorkLift Front Tie-Down # TLF2022 for you. He mentioned that you'll want to apply pressure to the tie-down (pull it down a little bit) or to the bolt threads so that the star washer stops the bolt from spinning- you can use some channel locks and a rag to save the thread or use a screwdriver against the threads so that it doesn't spin. He also mentioned that if you have an impact wrench, that might also work on this and allow the nut to tighten so it'll grip on the back side.
