Should I Use the Air Lift 1000 Air Bags If I've Already Got a Weight Distribution Hitch
Updated 02/22/2021 | Published 02/18/2021 >
Question:
Is there any added value in installing air bags like these if you use a weight distribution hitch to haul a travel trailer?

Helpful Expert Reply:
Yes. A weight distribution hitch is always a great solution for helping re-distribute the tongue weight of your trailer over both axles of your 2016 Ram 1500, but there are instances where the tongue weight is still causing some sag. When this occurs, or you just want a second layer of support, adding an air bag like the Air Lift 1000 # AL60818HD to your rig is a great choice. These air bags work to help provide support to your coil spring suspension and just give you a little extra help in fighting sag to make sure your truck is always level when under a towing load. They're also a great choice to add if you ever carry loads in the truck bed, since they'll support those as well.
I've linked a review video of these air bags for you to check out, but for the price they're definitely a nice, low cost addition to your truck that will help improve your truck's handling while towing.
