What Suspension Upgrades Should I do for My 2023 Jeep Gladiator Mojave for Overlanding?

Updated 09/08/2025 | Published 06/07/2025

Question:

I have a 2023 Gladiator Mojave with approx 500 additional load all the time, when I camp/overland it can be upwards of 750 lbs. I have slight sag now. Should I do the airbag or the timberin? both? Id like leveling, plus sway support. Also, front coils sumo? I like the idea of some front support. Thanks,

Hello Chuck,

Happy to get the right suspension upgrades for your 2023 Jeep Gladiator Mojave.

Since you mentioned load leveling I would go with the air bags. The Air Lift LoadLifter Air Helper Spring Kit w/ Air Spring Cradles - Rear Axle # AL88FF. The bags are great for helping with sway and body roll. These Air Bags fit every concern that you have.

If you needed a great air compressor to pair them with, check out the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System for Air Helper Springs - Remote - Bluetooth - EZ Mount # AL74000EZ. It comes with a remote, but is also Bluetooth compatible meaning you can control your bags from the inside of you Jeep.

I would complete the set-up with the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs for Jeep - Front Axle - Off-Road # SSF-402-54, great added support with zero maintenance. Win win in my book!

I personally like the air bags over the Timbrens, the Timbrens can cause a pretty rough ride when you are unloaded. I usually only recommend the Timbrens to someone that is constantly hauling a load.

Do you have a favorite arear you like to adventure off to? What has been your favorite overlanding trip?

Hey Chuck, Did you decide to go with the air bags and SumoSprings for your Gladiator? I'd love to hear how they worked out for your overlanding trips, as it could give others confidence when upgrading their suspension.
