Question:
I’m looking at the tekancha Voyager for a 2000 S1 pickup. Does the S10 have a factory wiring connection for this unit or will I have to make splices or connections?

Your 2000 Chevy S-10 is not prewired for a brake controller, but that's not a huge deal. The hardwire installation is actually pretty simple.
To begin with, you'll need a functional 4 pin trailer connector. If you don't have one already, you can easily install one using part # 118425 which installs inline at the connection between the vehicle's taillight wiring harness and taillight assemblies.
For a brake controller, I'm not a huge fan of the Voyager brake controller. Don't get me wrong, it works well. It does what it's supposed to but for about the same money you can get a better controller with the Tekonsha Primus, part # TK90160. The Primus provides a full LED numeric display and is auto leveling while the Voyager uses a single LED and needs to be manually leveled. The Primus is much easier to use.
To install the controller, you'll need our # ETBC7 brake controller installation kit. I've linked to an article and video that help explain the installation.
