Question:
I am looking to purchase a trailer hitch for a 2019 Subaru outback. We will be using it for a bike rack and possibly towing a small trailer. Which trailer hitch do you recommend. We were looking at models : e98847 or 76227. Should we buy the wiring, etc in case we do tow a trailer at the same time or can that be put on at a different time?

Whenever the option is available, I'll always recommend choosing the 2 inch receiver over the 1-1/4 inch because the 2 inch has many more hitch mounted accessories available.
The etrailer brand # e98847 and the Draw-Tite # 76227 are both fine choices. The main difference between the two is that the # e98847 will be fully visible when installed while the Draw-Tite # 76227 will have the crossbar concealed behind the vehicle bumper with only the receiver tube and safety chain hooks visible.
If the fact that the hitch is mostly visible doesn't bother you, then the # e98847 would work great. If you'd rather have a more concealed hitch, go with the Draw-Tite # 76227 or preferably the US made Curt
# C13410.
I've linked to installation videos that you might find helpful.
You can always install a wiring harness at a later date, but it wouldn't be the worst idea to install it now if you're fairly convinced you'll be towing at some point in the future. For a trailer wiring harness, use # 118467.
