Question:
Hello, I am looking to replace an entire lighting system on a small vintage trailer. Its about 12 long and 75 wide and my tow vehicle has a 4 flat receiver. I am looking through your website and I found the light fixtures I want to buy however I am unable to identify the proper wiring harness and kit for this job. The closest I have come is Item # 38955 however it seems that is more for a tow-behind vehicle. I am hoping for a split y harness type. The whole system will hopefully be able to send power from my tow vehicle to the trailers 4 side marker lights, two tail lights, and one license plate light, all LED with a 4 flat adapter. Please help me find the products I would need to accomplish this. Thanks for you time and attention.

To wire the 4 clearance lights # MCL0040ABB, license plate light # M298C, and tail lights # STL190RB to your 12' long 75" wide vintage trailer, I recommend starting the 4-Way Wishbone Trailer Wiring Harness with 42" Ground Wire # A40W42B which is 40' long meaning you will have enough extra wire to connect all of the lights you are planning on adding.
The # A40W42B will install as follows:
Brown wire to each of the yellow wire on each of the # MCL0040ABB, to the brown wire on the # M298C, and to the black wire of the # STL190RB.
White wire grounded to the trailer frame
Green wire to the red wire on the # STL190RB on the passenger side
Yellow wire to the red wire on the # STL190RB on the driver side
You will want to use heat shrink butt connectors # 05731-5 for weather tight connections, ring terminals # DW05736-1 to ground each of the lights to the frame of your trailer, and self tapping screws # FA1131822 to secure all of the ring terminals to the frame of your trailer.
I included videos for all of the products mentioned, and a video of the # A40W42B being installed for you to take a look at.
