Question:

I have a 2004 Ford F150. It has power locks but does not have a locking tailgate. Another customer asked if the PAL8250 will work on a non-locking tailgate and I believe you said you needed a locking tailgate. I couldnt find anything in your product specs. for the PAL8200 or 8250 that mentioned needing a factory locking tailgate. I would like to make my non-locking tailgate lock using the factory power lock system and fob. What product would I need?

The Pop and Lock Tailgate Lock, part # PAL8200, is designed for the 2004 Ford F-150 WITHOUT the factory lock on the tailgate. This is the part number you would need.

The Pop and Lock Tailgate Lock, part # PAL8250, will work on a 2004 Ford F-150 WITH the factory lock on the tailgate.

Both of the Pop and Lock tailgate locks can be connected to the factory power locks and be used with the key fob and the remote keyless entry system.

I have linked you to an installation video showing the # PAL8250 being installed on a 2006 F150.
