Why Won't Trailer Wiring for 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Work

Question:
Do you have a towing kit for my 2018 Grand Cherokee? My jeep didnt origially come with a hitch so I added one...although when I hook up trailer/camper..it doesnt automatically work.

We do have the parts to add to your 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee but I'm also guessing you don't need them.
My guess is you purchased a wiring kit that plugs into the US car connector like # HM40975 does. This is exactly what I used on my 2014 Grand Cherokee that didn't come with a tow package. It's a great setup except that the US car connector on our Jeeps is not active when it didn't come equipped with the factory tow package. All you have to do is take your Jeep to a dealership and they can activate the car connector for a fee. I'd call around and get some prices at local dealerships.
