Safety Chain Loop Solution for 2017 Chevy 2500 with Class V Hitch

Question:
Bought a boat with a Lund trailer and cant get the hooks through the hitch. Present hooks are too small. What do you suggest?

One solution that seems to work well with the factory hitches of the 2017 Chevy Silverado 2500 would be shackles like the # 358smallshackle which you'd attach to the loop on your hitch and then attach the safety chains to.
