Can I Still Manually Unlock the Pop and Lock PAL9555 and PAL9772

Updated 06/04/2024 | Published 11/26/2020

Question:

Jameson C says yes, Heather A in QandA for PAL9555 says no. Im confused. Can I use my existing twist-to-open lock handlefoot even if the key lock wont work? This is on a 2014 Ram 1500 Big Horn with long bed.

The Pop and Lock # PAL9555 is designed to replace your existing handle with a new locking handle, so your existing handle will be obsolete, as will the keys. This kit comes with new keys that will still allow you to manually lock and unlock your truck cap.

The # PAL9772 is the same kit with the same fits but keeps your old twist to open handle in place, so if this handle has a key you will still be able to use the key to manually open the cab; this protects you in the event that your battery dies, so you'll still be able to get into the rear of the truck.

I'm having some issues getting the correct electric lock for my Leer not sure if it's a 100 XL or XR. I purchased the pl9772. It most certainly does not fit over my existing lock. Could you direct me to the additional Parts I need to make this work or do I just need to buy a whole another kit thanks

@ErikT That is odd that it didn't work for you, we've checked with Pop and Lock in past for both the 100 XL and the XR and they told us that the 9772 was correct fit so that makes me wonder if you have something different.
