Recommended Replacement for Load Lock Truck Cap Lock

Question:

Howdy, eTrailer folks. So the remote control feature on my Leer cap has ceased working. Its a Load Lock, Top Mount 00651. It worked great with the GM key FOb for a couple years. Then the lock feature stopped, and a few months later, I couldnt unlock it with the FOB either. What part normally fails like this, and do you have a part I can easily swap out to get the FOB part working again?

I do have an option for you to get the locks working again but we don't carry Load Lock so I don't have any advice or replacement parts for this. That said, you should be able to pretty easily replace this with the Pop & Lock Power Lock Conversion Kit for Truck Caps and Hard Tonneau Covers part # PAL9772. This system ties into the lock/unlock circuits on the vehicle so you'll be able to lock/unlock the truck cap with your key fob again.
