Will The Pop & Lock Truck Cap Lock Work On An A.R.E. MX Truck Bed Topper

Hello, Im interested in the Pop and Lock Power Locking Handle kit to add power lock and unlock feature to my A.R.E. MX Topper. I have seen QandA concerning this topic for the A.R.E. MX Topper, but my back lift door on the topper has a center T-Handle with a fixed square rod/shaft that rotates and moves fixed rods to lock and unlock the back lift door. See the attached pics. The PAL9772 and PAL9555 kit appears to operate cables that releases latches on each side of the lift door. My T-Handle rotates a fixed rod on each side of the T-Handle. No cable or release latches at all. Will the PAL9555 or PAL9772 kit work with this mechanism? A.R.E. Topper, MX Series for Ford Maverick 2023.. Thank You.

Hi Joe,
Unfortunately Pop & Lock's camper shell locks only work with cable-style locks and not models with connecting rods. The only replacement option we'd be able to offer would be just a standard T-handle or cam lock and would need some measurements on your door or the current lock to ensure fitment.
I would check with ARE to see if you could swap out the latch mechanism with a cable one and could then install either the # PAL9772 or # PAL9555. The difference between the two is that the # PAL9772 would use your existing handle and the # PAL9555 would come with a new handle to install.
