Are there installation installations that I could look at to see if this base plate fits on my ‘05 Wrangler with a very simple aftermarket bumper?

The etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit part # e98946 which is a fit for a 2005 Jeep Wrangler is designed for models with the factory front bumper. It actually attaches to the bottom of the bumper beam which you can see in the attached installation instructions.

Instead, for an aftermarket steel bumper I recommend using the Blue Ox Bolt-On Base Plate Bracket Kit part # BX88230 which attaches directly to the bumper. This can then be used with a tow bar like the Blue Ox Alpha 2 Tow Bar part # BX7380.
