This base plate keeps the front of your vehicle looking clean when you’re not towing. The concealed main body leaves no visible crossbar, and the removable arms come off in seconds for an OE-style appearance. Hooking up your tow bar doesn’t get much simpler. The twist-lock tabs let you slide the arms in, turn to secure, and pin in place. It’s a solid mechanical connection that makes setting up fast and straightforward—whether you’re in the driveway or at a campsite.
The sturdy welded steel design spreads towing forces across the chassis to reduce stress on the frame and suspension. Great Base plate kit! Very easy to follow instructions even with my aftermarket bumper with winch. It fit perfect. The only issue I have is where the safety cables attach to the base plate….the cable connectors are too big to fit through the holes because the Jeep’s frame blocks part of the hole. See photo with red circle. I will have to get a smaller connector.
Can’t say enough good things. Great experience getting my Silverado ready to flat tow from NY to AZ.
The product is great but if you weren’t a mechanic or body shop guy you would be in big trouble trying to figure out how to install with the instructions and pictures provided with the product
This is not the first time I have purchased from ETrailer, but by far the best experience yet. I was treading in uncharted waters and decided to call, i happened to get Paula S. And she was able to educate me on the subject at hand. She also made sure I was ordering all the right parts for the task at hand. I received the two boxes of parts and assembled everything on the vehicle and noticed i was missing something so I called back and talked to Ashley. She assured me that Paula did order the missing part and that it would be here the next day. (Delayed due to holiday) You can sure tell both ladies love their jobs and liked taking care of us customers. I will always try to deal with them when I need something towing related.
Disassembly of the front clip of the Colorado was challenging as far as fit up curt kit worked well. The gal at etrailer was very knowledgeable fast shipping. Finally every time I do business with you I’m never disappointed.

this fits great on the 2003 Jeep wrangler , so the design was great , It took me quite some time to install it. Drilling through the Frame was not easy , Shipping was good and it came quickly,
Fit like it was made for it. :) Only issue was the fishing wires for the bolts in the frame. They would not fit through the holes in the locking plates so I couldn't use them. I used a magnet stick instead and it worked well. I did not put on the safety cables around the frame. I figure since this thing bolts to the steering box, if it comes off so does the steering box and then I have much bigger issues that these cables are not going to help.
Etrailer is with out a doubt the best supplier in the market today. they are on time every time and there support is excellent.
The package was delivered to my home with no damage. The baseplate with its parts along with the rest of my order was all packed neatly with extra cardboard and paper packaging material around everything so nothing would get damaged in transit.
The installation instructions were clear. The parts fit perfectly. I’ve purchased parts from etrailer before and never had any problems. Also, the few times I’ve had questions I’ve always been able to talk to someone who is knowledgeable and very helpful.
