Will Rack'em Fitz-All Enclosed Trailer Ladder Rack # RA-28 Mount to a Trailer Without Rain Gutters

Question:

I have a 2013 Haulmark Transport 6x12 flat roof trailer which does not have gutters. Will this rack not work with my trailer?

This Rackem Fitz-All enclosed trailer ladder rack system is intended for use on enclosed trailers with rain gutters. However, you may be able to adapt the installation as follows. Our installers have experience doing this in a similar circumstance.

Inspect the interior of your trailer roof near the top corners to see whether there are steel headers. These headers are essentially the support structure for the sheet metal roof. If your trailer does have these, they will serve as an effective mounting point for the ladder rack.

If your Haulmark does not have the internal headers you can still install this rack effectively by using sheet steel or other steel hardware (that you will need to procure independently) on the internal side of the roof to help distribute the rack load. This additional material reinforces the roof sheet metal at the rack mounting points and essentially duplicates the function of the factory header.
