Question:
how do i measure for a dual axle boat trailer with hydraulic brakes. I am replacing entire brake lines . My trailer has the swing away tongue with a UPF hydraulic actuator. Both axles have hydraulic brakes. The trailer carries a 1996 Nitro 896 Savage bass boat if this helps any. Boat is 19foot 5 inch in length. What brake line kit would you recommend , it currently has steel lines from the factory, made by Tracker Marine, I want to use flexible line if possible. Thank you

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Kodiak # 20TA-BLKIT 20 foot brake line kit will work if the distance from the rear of the coupler to the front trailer axle is roughly 18 to 19 feet, as you'll need some slack for the swing-away coupler to move freely. having a little extra length won't hurt, but you don't want to come up short because you can't easily make a splice like you can with steel brake lines.
So in a nutshell, the advertised length of the kit you need will be the length of the longest line in the kit, and as I mentioned, you'll want to leave some slack for the coupler.
Other lengths are also available. For kit with a 25 foot line, use # HS496-252, for 18 feet, use # 18TA-BLKIT or # 15TA-BLKIT for 15 feet.
