I’m curios as to why I would need the Mor/Ryde adapter to use with a Demco 21K Auto Slider? I see no benefit in capturing the pin box with a V shaped wedge behind the pin verse capturing it with the stock rails. Either way it’s being captured. There is stress on the rubber mount either way

The Demco Hijacker 21k Autoslide hitch # DM8550035 requires the Mor/Ryde locking plate for your pin box because the capture plates on the head of the hitch are not a perfect fit. The pin box design requires the adapter for proper hitch function. The Demco Hijacker Autoslide Locking Plate for MOR/ryde Pin Boxes # DM6025 has been determined by the manufacturer to be required for the correct function of the hitch. It doesn't have to do with the downward pressure but rather the turning pressure to help the hitch head to turn correctly so the auto slide adjustment is correct for turning clearances.
