Is There a 2 Inch Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2015 Toyota Prius
Updated 08/23/2020 | Published 08/22/2020 >
Question:
Can a 2-inch hitch mount be installed on a 2015 Toyota Prius ? I need to haul a power assist recumbent tadpole style trike at times two recumbent trikes long distances. These power Assist trikes probably weigh around 60lbs each to be in the safe side. The rear carrier racks I see fit 2 inch hitch and recommend minimum 300 lbs tongue weight. If Prius can not have 2inch mount than would a 1.25 inch hitch with 2 inch adapter do without worrying about failure?

There is one option to add a 2 inch trailer hitch receiver to your 2015 Toyota Prius with the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7178.
This hitch has the inch receiver you need as well as a 300 lb tongue weight capacity. Each of the other options of hitch for your Prius are a 1-1/4 inch receiver, and you definitely don't want to use any type of adapter with those hitches, because an adapter will cut the tongue weight of your hitch in half.
So this hitch is going to be exactly what you need for your Prius. I have added a link to a video install for you to check out as well of the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7178.
