Question:
Hi, I am trying to replace a light due to a cracked lens on a 2004 Itasca. Attached is a picture of one of the non-broken ones. This product seems to be of the same measurements as what is already on the motorhome, so I think it would work not 100 sure, though. Im also stumped about grommets...whatever is behind my light now is rusted metal, so Im not sure if I never had a grommet or if I am even supposed to have one. Should I get a grommet as well, or can the new light go on without one? As you can see, it doesnt look like there is much room around the light which measures 2.5 inches across, so Im not sure if I would have the 3 inches of clearance needed to install the grommet. I am afraid to remove the light and whatever is behind it to measure in case I have an unfixable hole if I cant get it back in. Also, I see pigtails being sold with this light...in theory, if I already have a light, shouldnt I already have the wiring/pigtail? Thank you.

The Optronics Trailer Clearance or Side Marker Light part # MC57AB can be used with or without a grommet it is a standard size type light that can be utilized many different ways.
As for the pigtail as you said in theory should be there but it always varies and in some cases it won't be there. I would pick one up and add it regardless just to make changing it in the future much easier if need be. The Right Angle 2-Wire Pigtail for Optronics Trailer Lights part # A46PB is the one to use.
